Or perhaps some (larger) maps with more than one faction. Maybe have some maps with a unique 'boss' type tower with too much HP that spawns enemies as it is damaged. I think the best example is The Space Game. Some games are very simplistic but keep you on your toes even if not much changes.

It can be, perhaps, a massive horde lead by a boss as soon as a time period has passed (time trial like one person suggested). I don't have any major suggestions about creating a more interesting (not necessarily 'more challenging') progression. The random events (meteor shower etc) are cool to have but currently are just 'sidequest material.' Once you figure out what you have to do, or achieve stability within the economy/defence - the rest is just resource management (which i love but it isnt really complex or too fun in RTR). This issue with progress is the same as with low difficulty Civilization games or Creeper World (great game). As soon as preliminary defences are established the base-building is just.

That's your design choice and I think that's fine.Ĭurrently we just get more monster spawns/spawning pools as time progresses. I saw that you do not plan on making a 'win condition' for RTR. But if it was more, people would complain that 'there isn't much to do' or that there isn't any progression within the game. The suggestions are not meant to be negative or bashful.įor the sale price of $5 the game is fine. I have some criticism and a few suggestions as a casual gamer, and I really hope you achieve your vision with this game as I have enjoyed it. I don't see myself playing it much until the following major release (Indev 29/30?).

I have enjoyed the game so far and logged 38 hrs or so and have beaten the game on the nightmare difficulty on my favourite map. I am writing this in response to your most recent steam post.
